1st & 2nd Positions for Jamie McCanney at BSEC
The final rounds of the British Sprint Enduro Championship took place at Chacombe near Banbury. In the Elite class there were 3 riders who could claim the championship title, Matti Seistola (Factory Husqvarna), Danny McCanney (Factory Gas Gas) & Jamie McCanney (Husaberg TE250). On day one Jamie won the first 3 tests & opened up a 13 second lead over Seistola who then fought back winning the next 2 tests and narrowed the lead to 8 seconds. A mistake by Seistola on test 6 gave Jamie an 18 second margin going into the last two “back to back” tests. With this in mind Jamie did enough to win the day by a margin of 9 seconds with Seistola a further 42 seconds ahead of Jamie Lewis (Honda). Daryl Bolter (KTM) returned from injury to finish 4th with Danny McCanney down in 5th after receiving a 30 second time penalty for missing his start time when his spark plug fouled. Jonny Walker (Red Bull KTM) rounded off the top 6. On day two the championship was still up for grabs but Seistola was determined to fight for the title & won all the tests, Jamie fought hard and managed to get within a second a couple of times but it was not enough. Danny McCanney had a better day finishing 3rd with no problems closely followed home by Jamie Lewis, Daryl Bolter & Jonny Walker. In the Youth 125 class Lee Sealey rode well to finish 2nd overall. Jane Daniels & Hannah Styles made it a double podium for Midwest Husaberg riders in the Women’s class finishing 1st & 3rd respectively. Final Championship Results Elite 1st Matti Seistola (Husqvarna), 2nd Jamie McCanney (Husaberg), 3rd Danny McCanney (GasGas), Youth 125 Cup 1st Brad Freeman (KTM), 2nd Lee Sealey (Husaberg). Women 1st Jane Daniels (Husaberg), 2nd Katie Walker (KTM), 3rd Hannah Styles (Husaberg). Pics: Jonty
